Lucy Heo

Piano

Lucy Heo is a pianist, educator, and collaborative musician who has made the Kawarthas her home after a life shaped by music across three countries.

Lucy holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and has pursued graduate-level studies in piano performance in South Korea. She has performed internationally as both soloist and collaborative pianist, appearing in South Korea, Abu Dhabi, and Canada alongside a wide range of soloists and choirs. Her approach to performance is defined by the same quality that makes her a natural chamber musician: a genuine attentiveness to the people she shares a stage with.

That collaborative spirit extends fully into her work as an educator. At Kawartha Montessori School, Lucy guides children in both music and visual art, fostering curiosity, independence, and self-expression in each student she works with. She has also contributed as a pianist in musical productions at local schools, bringing live music into the broader community. As a mother of two, she understands firsthand how early experiences with music and art can shape a child's sense of self and creativity, and she brings that understanding into her teaching every day.

Lucy joined the Kawartha Chamber Music Collective as exactly the kind of musician chamber music was made for: deeply trained, naturally collaborative, and committed to the idea that music is most alive when it is shared.
